Caper leads the Hills District of Sydney in dance competition success, exam results, and involvement in community shows and events. Our students have appeared on television, in stage productions and costume/fashion parades. Caper School of Performing Arts services suburbs including Castle Hill, Bella Vista, Baulkham Hills, Kellyville, Glenwood, Stanhope Gardens, Rouse Hill and Beaumont Hills.
Some of our recent achievement are listed below:
Our students performed at the Sydney Opera House with Angelina Ballerina the Mousical. It was so much fun to perform in a professional production and share the stage with our favourite mouse!
Our Representative Dance Team are two time winners of Sydney Eisteddfod's Dance of Champions. Televised on Channel Ten, this event draws competitors from the winning entrants across an array of dance styles and age groups. To date we have won over $11,000 at this event! In addition to winning twice, we have been finalists four times across the genres of jazz, ballet and musical theatre.
Caper student, Skye, performed with the Sydney season of The King & I at the Sydney Opera House. The show featured musical theatre luminaries Lisa McCune and Teddy Tahu Rhodes. Skye also performed on Channel Nine's The Morning Show as part of the children's ensemble.
Caper kids have performed in several professional productions including Love Never Dies and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. We often hold coaching workshops to give our students an extra edge when attending castings and auditions.
Our annual performance at the Sydney Royal Easter Show is always so much fun! Each year we present an energetic upbeat production featuring students who range in age from seven to 17.
The Caper Representative Dance Team competes in many competitions around Australia. The Rep Team has consistently received many awards and prizes across a range of dance genres and age groups. However we also pride ourselves on the skills that are developed through competition such as goal setting, discipline, commitment, team work and sportsmanship
The Caper kids love to give back to the community. We have been involved in many charity events, most recently the March into Miracles Gala Dinner (benefiting Kids Rehab at the Children's Hospital, Westmead) and the Project Pink fundraiser for the National Breast Cancer Research Foundation (held at the State Sports Centre).
The Caper kids are a staple at many community events around the Hills District. Students have performed at Crestwood Fair, the Orange Blossom Festival and Baulkham Hills Shire Council's Australia Day festival.
Each year students are given the opportunity to undertake an exam with Glenn Wood Tap (GWT). Students receive a certificate and badge for their efforts as well as a graded result and mark out of 100. Exams are optional.
The Royal Academy of Dance syllabus is taught in all ballet classes at Caper with exams held annually. The exam date is a major event on the Caper calendar and we are thrilled to receive great results each year.
Christmas is our favourite time of year! We have created Christmas productions for Rouse Hill Town Centre and Parramatta Childrens' Christmas Concert.
We have travelled all the way to the USA to perform at Disneyland and California Adventure Park. Whilst we were there we did some amazing workshops and just generally had a ball traveling with our dance friends.
